🌏🌱💉 On December 6, 2023, the Global Environment Facility – United Nations Industrial Development Organization (GEF-UNIDO) officially launched the “Philippine Healthcare Waste Management Project,” attended by over 100 members of civil society, academia, the hospital and healthcare industry, healthcare waste experts, and representatives from DENR EMB and the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Offices.
🤝🏥📚 This collaborative effort with DENR-EMB and the partner organization BAN Toxics aims to enhance knowledge and capacity regarding healthcare waste management in the Philippines.
🗣️✨ During the event, Dr. Carmela Centeno, UNIDO’s Industrial Development Officer, highlighted that through multifaceted actions, the project aims not only to manage healthcare waste effectively but also to build a future-ready healthcare sector—a celebration of shared dedication to an environmentally secure and healthy future.
