On April 28, the Autism Recovery Network of the Philippines (ARNP) of Daet, Camarines Norte organized the 11th advocacy “Fun Walk” with the slogan “Love Completes Me”, which aims to raise awareness on the issue of children with autism and the health and environmental effects of toxic chemicals in time for World Autism Month.
More than 1,000 attendees participated in the yearly event from various sectors and institutions, including LGUs, school-based organizations, community groups, the Daet SPED Center of Daet Elementary School, Mabini Colleges, Inc., the Florence Nightingale Education Council, the Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. – Camarines Norte Chapter, Practitioners from ARNP Daet SPED Center, Tong Il Moo Doo (TMD) Tribe (Saturday and Sunday), Angels Ladder Therapy Center, JCI Daet Bulawan, LGUs of Daet, Basud, San Vicente, Sta. Elena, Vinzons, and Paracale, as well as BAN Toxics.
The 1.5-kilometer fun walk started from Freedom Park (Kapitolyo), passed through the inner streets of the town, then proceeded along the main thoroughfares to Brgy. Bagasbas, where more people joined, and finally concluded at Bagasbas Beach.
Health and Environmental group BAN Toxics took part in the annual celebration to promote sound management of chemicals and wastes and advocate for the rights of children to health and safety.
